Spence, STAR #2133
Spence hit the jackpot when Joann, a STAR volunteer and Alum reached out to adopt this sweet boy. Spence follows in the pawsteps of Moe, #175 ’04 and Emma, #1627 ’21. We could not ask for a more loving home that will cater to Spence’s every need. Thank you, Beth for fostering.
💙 Meet Spence! A blue-eyed handsome gentleman ready to find his forever home!
Don’t let the number fool you – this handsome 9-year-old black tri boy is young at heart! Weighing in at a perfect 40 pounds and sporting the most stunning blue eyes, he’s proof that age is just a number. If we hadn’t been told he was 9, we’d have guessed he was closer to 5 or 6 based on his energy and enthusiasmfor life. We think he even still looks like a puppy!
This sweet gentleman has impeccable house manners. He’s completely house-trained with no accidents, sleeps quietly through the night, and is content to relax by your feet while you work from home. He’s the perfect combination of playful companion and easygoing housemate.
His favorite game? Tennis ball, of course! Toss one his way, and you’ll be treated to the cutest game of fetch, although he would prefer not to drop the ball. He will dance for a treat and jump on all fours like a pogo stick if he’s ready to go in or out. No confusion there, he’s ready to GO!
He’s as gentle as they come. He eats well, takes treats softly, and gets along wonderfully with both male and female dogs. He also adores people and has been wonderful with the grandkids, greeting everyone with a happy heart and wagging nub.
Perhaps the most touching part of his story is that he spent his entire life with one family before finding himself needing a new beginning through no fault of his own. While starting over at 9 years old isn’t something any dog should have to do, he’s embraced this new chapter with resilience, unconditional love, and a heart that’s still so eager to bond with his forever family.
If you’re looking for an easy, affectionate companion who is past the puppy antics but still full of life, fun, and devotion, this incredible boy checks every box. He’s the kind of dog that reminds you every day why Australian Shepherds are so special.
He’s ready to spend his golden years making new memories with a family who will love him as much as he’ll love them.
Spence is a stunning 9-year old black tri with the most mesmerizing eyes. He is on the smaller side at 38 pounds. His owners have some medical issues going on and thought he deserved a more active and fulfilling life. He still loves to run, play and chase his ball. Spence is being fostered in the Wimberley area and should be ready for adoption after evaluation and a neuter – possibly mid July.
