Lilly, STAR #2153

Lilly Belle has been adopted by Kathy. She will get to be an only girl, and we know will be loved and get all the care she deserves. Kathy has always had dogs and found her home missing a furry companion – we know Lilly will fill her home and heart. Thank you, Terry and Zee for another wonderful foster job and to Sue for the home visit.

❤️ Meet Lilly Belle!

Lilly Belle is a petite 40-pound black-tri-Aussie with unique little markings on all four feet and a wiggle butt that’s showing up more and more these days.

Lilly Belle came to STAR from a heartbreaking breeding situation in Louisiana a few months ago and has gone from knowing very little about life in a home to being shown all the TLC she deserves! At first, everything frightened her such as noises, sudden movements, going outside and even leaving the safety of her crate. Six weeks later, this sweet girl has discovered that people can be kind and the world can actually be pretty interesting.

She now enjoys taking treats, seeks out her foster family for affection and will even climb into a lap when invited. She’s also claimed the coveted spot beneath her foster dad’s feet! She remains cautious with new people, but curiosity now wins her over, complete with increasingly enthusiastic wiggle-butt greetings.

Lilly Belle is crate trained, walks nicely on leash and rides well in the car, although she still needs a little help getting in. Toys and fetch haven’t impressed her yet as right now, being close to her trusted people is much more important.

Lilly Belle will need a patient, loving adopter who understands that moving to a new home may temporarily set her confidence back. Her foster believes she would do best as the only dog, where she can settle in at her own pace and build a strong bond with her person. Or, with an easy going male that will show her the ropes.

For a girl who once wouldn’t leave the back of her crate, Lilly Belle has already come an incredibly long way. Give her time, patience and love, and we know this is a wonderful little Aussie just waiting to fully bloom.

Sweet Lilly Belle is house trained, spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and current on heartworm prevention. She is currently fostered in a home in Houston. If you’d like to learn more about her or are interested in adopting, the first step is to complete an adoption application at the link below.
10 IMPORTANT THINGS: 1) We do not deliver dogs to adopters – you must be able and willing to come meet the dog in their foster home. 2) A home visit by one of our STAR volunteers is a required part of our adoption program and thus, adoptions outside of Texas are rare because of these two requirements. 3) You must have a secure fence in place, 4) we are not fans of apartments for this active breed 5) we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6, 6) we will not adopt to homes where the dogs will be alone 8+ hours daily, 7) All STAR dogs are adopted to be inside pets and family members only, 8 ) All current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention. 9) Once you have met a dog and decide you’d like to adopt, you have 7-days to adopt the dog – we do not hold dogs, so be ready to adopt when you apply. 10) The adoption fee is $400 and trust us, we spend that or much more on dogs to get them vetted – all STAR dogs will be neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention.

Meet Lilly! 🐾

We’re excited to introduce Lilly, the next dog from our Louisiana Baker’s Dozen Plus 1  group.

Lilly is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35-pound black bi.  She  came to us from a heartbreaking cruelty/breeding situation in Louisiana. While her past wasn’t the life she deserved, those days are behind her. Now, she’s beginning a new chapter filled with kindness, patience, and the love every dog should know.

Lilly will be fostered in the Houston area.   We can’t wait to share updates as she blossoms and discovers what it means to simply be a cherished dog.

Please join us in welcoming Lilly to the STAR family. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make her journey to safety possible, especially our Louisiana foster partners.
