ADOPTED

Dallas, STAR #2001

Dallas will be heading home with Mary and gets a fur buddy, Murphy to show her all around her new back yard and the daily routine. We are so happy to find this sweet loving soul such a great home. Thank you, Choe for fostering and to Jack for the home visit.

Meet Dallas – Your New Loyal Shadow!
Gentle • Loyal • Smart • Soulful
Dallas is a beautiful, 5-year-old blue Merle about 50 pounds with a deep love for her people. She started off shy but quickly chose her favorite human and has blossomed more each day. Once she trusts you, she becomes a calm, affectionate companion who quietly seeks out pets and company—but respects your space when you’re done.
She’s great in the home: fully house-trained, calm when left alone, and a quiet sleeper at night. Dallas walks beautifully on a leash (no pulling!) and enjoys sniffing around the neighborhood, taking in all the smells—especially flowers!
While she can be a little anxious with new people and unfamiliar sounds (expect a big girl bark when she’s unsure), she’s never aggressive. She might growl quietly if she’s feeling uncertain, but she doesn’t bare teeth or act out. With time and patience, her anxiety melts away—she’s already made big progress warming up to her foster dad and now seeks him out for affection.
She gets along respectfully with other dogs, doesn’t guard food or toys, and is slowly starting to play. She’s not much of an outdoor lounger and would rather be where her humans are—even if that means waiting by the door to come back inside.
Dallas is fully vaccinated and had a mini spa day after her vet visit, which she handled like a champ!
Ideal home: A calm, patient household where she can build trust at her own pace. She’d thrive with a gentle routine, and while she’s fine with other dogs, she’d also do well as a solo dog getting all the love.

Dallas is blue merle female, and she landed at STAR when her owner had to move and could not bring her along. She’s roughly 4 years old and 50lbs. So far – very sweet and timid.  She’ll be evaluated and vetted in a foster home in Richmond and may be available first of July.
