Rowan Red, STAR #2140

Hurray for Rowan Red who is heading home with STAR Alum – the LaBelle family. Rowan came to us from a bad situation in Louisiana and tested positive for heartworms. Fast forward a few months, he’s now the picture of good health and landed in such as wonderful spot, following in the pawsteps of Chipper #1114’15 and Rooster #1667 ’21. Thank you, Scott for coming back for another STAR dog and to the foster team of Elaine and Juli and those who transported this boy to new, charmed life.

Meet Rowan Red! 🐾

Rowan is the next dog we’re introducing from our Louisiana Baker’s Dozen Plus 1 group. Like the others, Rowan was rescued from a heartbreaking cruelty and breeding situation where he did not receive the care or life he deserved.

Rowan is a stunning 5-year-old solid red Australian Shepherd weighing 60 pounds. He has a lot to learn about life outside of the situation he came from.  He had a great start with one of our volunteers in Louisiana until a foster home opened up in Houston.

Rowan will be available for adoption when we feel he is ready. Our goal is to make sure he has the time he needs to feel secure and confident before we ask him to make another big transition.  He is being fostered in the Houston area and is fully vetted and neutered.  Sadly, he is heartworm positive and currently being treated.  Stay tuned to hear more about his brave progress!
