Adopted Lark, STAR # 1281

Lark, STAR # 1281. Fingers crossed we have found the perfect owner for our shy baby girl. We told him what she needed.. several times. He was never deterred. Lark loved his dog and took treats from him. This is the beginning of a wonderful new family. Brandon lives in Houston with his Wheaton Terrier, Mishka and is looking forward to training an Aussie. Thank you, Ashley, for your care of Lark all this time and for letting her go.

Available Dog Lark, STAR # 1281
Lark is a small black tri puppy approximately 8 mos. old and less than 35 lbs. She was found at the San Marcos shelter. She is now fully vetted and microchipped. She is very shy and needs a person to bring out her personality. Lark was adopted out previously to a nice family however the three children and all of their friends were too much for her. It was not a good match. no one’s fault. Her foster home is in San Antonio and here is the bio they sent describing this little girl.

“Lark is a super sweet puppy who needs the same thing most puppies need: attention, rules, and LOVE! She is learning to open up to people but is still very shy. Luckily, Lark absolutely adores her two foster brothers! They run and wrestle until they’re worn out, nap for 20 minutes, then start all over. She is small but feisty, and bosses the boys around (which they don’t mind). Her energy seems boundless, but she will settle down when told to, especially if you snuggle with her on the couch.

Lark is a very fast learner: she knows her name, is kennel and house trained, walks well on the leash, and has learned to share toys and affection. Lark loves her kennel, and will even put herself away when she needs some alone time. She needs firm rules, but is easily corrected with a gentle “no.” She wants very much to please you, and is responsive to positive reinforcement in the form of praise and treats. Since she is still a puppy (about 7 months old), she needs supervision to ensure that she is chewing her toys and not your shoes/furniture/blankets.

Lark needs a quiet but active family who is up to the challenge of helping her continue to grow. Lark would do best in a household with one or two playmates; willingness to wrestle is a must!”

UPDATE: Good news: she has been introduced to our cats (finally) and she LOVES them. She follows them around and obsessively sniffs them, but doesn’t try to bite or chase or anything like that. I’d be perfectly comfortable placing her in a home that has both dogs and cats already.

Lark, STAR # 1281.
Black tri female puppy approx. 6 mos. old from the shelter in San Marcos.. Lark was initially super shy and is opening up and having fun with her foster brothers. She still needs to be vetted and further evaluated. Her foster home is in San Antonio.
