Adopted Dixie, STAR # 1287
Dixie is another Louisiana girl Sent from the shelter in Thibodeaux because she needed heartworm treatment. She sailed through her treatment and is going to be a fun dog for the McFarland family. She will go back to San Antonio where there will be three big kids and two dogs to play with. Thanks to Stephanie for meeting her transport, to Chris for the overnight, to Ashley for the home visit and most of all to John and the dogs at Aussie Acres for foster care. Be a good girl, Dixie Doodle you will be missed!
Available Dog Dixie, STAR # 1287
Dixie has written her own bio in hopes of finding a forever home. “My name is Dixie. It took me a little bit but I made it to Houston to become a STAR dog. I came from Louisiana. I was sick with heart worms. I finished my treatment a few weeks ago and am better now. I’m a black bi southern bell. I’m two years old and weigh 42 lbs. I still need to put on a few pounds. I’ve been staying with three sisters and one brother. Also two kitty cats.
My foster brother was adopted and I am missing my playmate. The dogs here don’t play with me as he did. I still have a lot of puppy in me and can get very excited when meeting new dogs. I’m crate trained and have excellent house manners. My recall is excellent and I’m good on a leash. My name should have been Love Bug. Because I am totally into love and attention and ask for it constantly. If you will let me I’ll lay my head in your lap all day. Foster dad lets me sleep in the bed. When I lay down I am there to stay. I love to play fetch, love emptying the toy box. and love to play outside. I’m spayed, current on all my vaccinations and am microchipped. If you’re looking for a young southern lady, I would enjoy meeting you. My foster home is in Sweeny. Please fill out an application on our STAR website.”
New Dog Dixie, STAR # 1287
Dixie is from the shelter in Thibodaux, La. She is sweet, silly and funny. Sadly, she is also HW+. We will treat her and she should be available around the middle of December. Her foster home is in Sweeny.
