Woody, STAR #1994

AVAILABLE DOG

Woody, STAR #1994

Woody has found his new home with Lawrence and Susan! This Aussie-savvy family saw Woody and knew he was the next Aussie to join their family. He’ll be an only dog, getting all the attention with walks and possibly training for competitive in show-based obedience (or maybe just for fun). Thank you, Megan and family for fostering and to Joann for the home visit.

Woody is a lovely boy. He’s a Red Tri Male, approximately 5 years old and 45lbs. He’s sweet, cuddly, relatively calm and relaxed, good with other dogs. He ignores the cat and his previous family said he was fine with the small child.

Here’s a bit more detail about him from his foster mom:

He is polite, not food aggressive at all – doesn’t even counter-surf. Loads up good and kennels up well. He doesn’t just head into the kennel when told, but he is easily coerced. He does like to window surf at slow speeds.

He meets and greets politely and is not overwhelming. Very little barking. He whines some in his kennel – but we have his kennel in another room and I think he’d like to be in our room, but there is not enough space for another kennel. Whines a little to let you know he’s awake and would love it if you’d let him out.

He can be nervous in new settings – and will look to you often to check in for a reassuring pat or quick cuddle.

Leash manners are good! He does pull a bit, but not too bad. He has not been reactive to cars or other dogs – just a fun boy to take on a stroll! He does bark at other dogs he sees, but mostly in a “how are you” way.

In the yard, he explores but does not dig, nor did he get into the pond.

Woody is not perfect – but darned close. If I have him too long, I might fall in love. Such a sweetheart.

Woody’s foster home is in Austin.  If you are interested in learning more, please start by completing an adoption application on our website, under “Adopt”.

Coming from the Valley is Woody.. 5 years old and 45 lbs. Sadly, he barks when the baby is sleeping.. He will be evaluated and vetted by his foster home in Kyle.. He should be available for adoption after the first of June to a family that does not mind if their dog barks..
