Indie, STAR #2046
Sweet Indie has found a new home with Jean! Jean recently lost her dog and had been feeling a huge void, and so she reached out to STAR. When she read Indie’s bio, she knew she’d be a perfect match and a wonderful companion. Indie is very happy too and gets to be the Queen of the house with endless belly rubs, tennis ball tosses, and love. Thank you, Lisa for fostering and to Julie J. for the referral.
Are you looking for a dog who’s truly move-in ready? Well, today might just be your lucky day—because Indie is ready to steal your heart!
Meet Indie, a beautiful black-tri–Australian Shepherd with brains, charm, and just the right amount of sass. At six years old and 40 pounds, she’s the perfect size and the perfect age – past the puppy chaos but still full of life and enthusiasm. She’s fully vetted, microchipped, freshly groomed, and officially on the hunt for her forever home.
Indie has the cutest, most expressive face, especially when she’s waiting for your next cue. She’s always tuned in and ready for whatever comes next. Fully crate and potty trained, Indie is a total lady in the house and can be trusted with free rein. At night, she settles in quietly by your bed, ready to greet each new day by your side.
This happy girl is an absolute joy to be around. Her favorite activity? Fetch – on repeat! If you’ve got a ball and a little time, you’ll have a best friend for life. She also enjoys her daily walks and is always up for whatever adventure the day brings.
Indie currently lives with both a male and female Aussie. She’s often the one starting the fun, but she also has a soft, snuggly side, content to curl up at your feet or even climb into your lap for some love. She has been around cats and does well, though she’s a bit too curious about their food and litter box snacks, so some supervision and separation there is a must.
Indie likes to be the leader of the pack and would do best with an easygoing dog who’s happy to let her take the top spot. She has had a failed adoption where the resident dog was much smaller and not sturdy enough to keep up with her level of play. She’s do best with a sturdy male fur buddy or would be fine also as your one-and-only.
If Indie sounds like your kind of girl, don’t wait! Fill out an application and let’s see if she’s your perfect match! Her foster home is in New Braunfels, and she can’t wait to meet you.
IMPORTANT: We do not deliver dogs to adopters. You must be able and willing to come meet the dog in their foster home. A home visit by one of our STAR volunteers is a required part of our adoption program. Adoptions outside of Texas are rare because of these requirements. You must have a secure fence in place, and we are not fans of apartments for this breed, nor homes where the dogs will be home alone 8+ hours daily. All STAR dogs are adopted to be inside pets and family members only and all current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $300 and trust us, we spend that or much more on dogs to get them vetted – all STAR dogs will be neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention. If you already have an application on file with us, you can contact us to let us know you are interested.
Welcome to STAR Indie! Indie is a stunning black tri female, around 6 years old and 40 lbs. Recent addition of babies to the household meant that she was not getting the attention and exercise Aussies need. So, we’ll assess her in a foster home in Spring Branch and she may be available late October.
