HAPPY TAILS

Theo, STAR # 1773

Handsome Theo was adopted by Austin.  This “new to Aussies” adopter had done lots of research on the breed and asked great questions of the STAR team.  Austin has been on a search for a dog that was smart and energetic and of course, he fell in love with Aussies and then with Theo.  We think they will be best buddies as they train each other and enjoy new adventures.  Thank you, Elaine and Kathy for the transport from LA to his foster home in Houston.  Thank you, Ashley for fostering this boy, doing the home visit, and playing such an integral role in helping a STAR Aussie find his best life.

Theo is ready to be adopted.. Here is what his foster mom has to say about this boy..

“Theo is beautiful and young. I think he is starved for new experiences, so he gets a little worked up when they’re presented to him (on walks, along the fence line when there are other dogs, etc.). His leash manners need a lot of work, and he would benefit from obedience classes and some exposure to the outside world.
On the positive side, he’s super food motivated and has learned commands like “sit” and “go kennel.” He was really easy to housebreak and generally takes correction well. I think he is smart and wants to please, unless his excitement overwhelms him. He gets along well with other dogs and has shown zero aggression (even when other dogs show some aggression around/toward him). He’s a little much for older dogs sometimes, and he doesn’t always quit when they tell him to back off. His ideal adopters would be a single person with lots of energy, or a family with teenagers (not young kids). He’s not a good match for anyone in an apartment or with really small or elderly dogs. He would also be too much for anyone who has mobility issues because he really does pull HARD on the leash.
Theo is 15 mos. old and 45 lbs.. up to date on shots, neutered, housebroken, crate trained, and loving.  His foster home is in League City.. If you are interested in meeting Theo, please go to our website, read about Adoption and submit an application.
