I’m Scout and a 2 year old 40 lbs. female, ready for snuggles, attention and treats.  I’m healthy and recently spayed and I know good manners, though it’s sometimes hard to follow them when I’m excited.   My arch nemesis are squirrels, door bells, and squirt water bottles.

Soft brown eyes that show you how much I love you

Silky, curly coat and major wiggle butt

No problem of fear of kennel (enters easily, but super easy with treat) – but I’d rather be out, following you around

Gets along well with cats – they are fun to chase!  Unfortunately I also play rough so they really don’t like me

Playful but also loves to snuggle

Loves to run at full speed with buddies or when chasing a ball.

Sits for treats and greets – knows basic commands

House trained

Things to work on:

– Counter surfing for goodies

– Territorial around food (especially when around competition)

– Coming inside upon command aka recall

– Staying out of the swimming pool

– Learning not to jump on people

– The word “no”…  I’m a bit ADHD

I love all people, bark a little at first, and then I’m ready to play.  Because of my size and love for rough-housing, I would thrive best in an environment with like-size or larger male dog who will tolerate my energy level.  I could be an only dog if there were plans to help me get my energies out multiple times day.  I’m good to be in the kennel for a few hours at a time – but would not thrive if placed in kennel for long periods every day.  I like to establish an alpha position, so it’s best I don’t get a sister, or live with smaller dogs.

Scout is a high energy girl that will need a person and some training.. this is not a weekend dog.. she’s every day.. If you think you could be Scout’s new best friend, please go to the website, read about Adoption and submit an application.. if you already have one please Contact Us..  Her foster home is in Austin.
