Adopted Huck, STAR # 1296

Sweet Huck garnered lots of attention when listed. However, STAR worked to find him the perfect situation. He needed company.. and of course, lots of attention and love. So now he is going to live with the Gahn family.. and will have all of that. He will have human and canine siblings and live in Houston. Thanks to Topher for taking such care of Huck.

Adopted Huck, STAR # 1286

Huck is a 4-year-old, 60 lbs. red merle male Aussie and a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Huck really does need a stay at home family. He is fine alone for short periods but would not be happy at all if you leave the house all day every day. Keep in mind he is good with everyone, has good manners and is a very sweet boy. Below is the bio sent in by his foster dad.

“Hi, I’m Huck.

My mom had to give me up because she and dad started a new family and had full-time jobs. They wanted me to have a home where I wouldn’t be home alone all day. I love everyone – people – dogs; you name it, I want to be your friend. I read the book on Aussies, and I think I do a pretty good job at most of it. I’m loyal, friendly, loving, affection (very affectionate!), smart, silly and obedient. I’m not really big on fetch or catching Frisbee’s, but I love to take the ball and play “keep away” from other dogs. I love to visit outside and to go on walks. I walk well on a leash, but I really love to explore and sniff out all kinds of interesting smells. Mom never kept me in a crate, so I’m not used to that and don’t care for it much, but foster dad is slowly trying to get me to work on it. I’m giving him a hard time though – I much prefer to be left outside of the crate at home and promise I don’t get into anything and am a good boy.

I’m used to being around people a lot, so I have a little bit of separation anxiety, but foster dad has been working on that with me as well and I’m getting better. Ideally, I’d like to be around my new parents as much as possible, but promise to behave if left alone for a few hours at a time. Did I mention I love other dogs? A brother or sister would be great, but it’s ok if I don’t as long as you can spend lots of time with me, playing, walking and keeping me company. I’m fully housetrained, happy to share my food, treats, and toys with anyone. I like to be close by your side most of the time, but not always right next to you. I love to give kisses – I lick my foster sisters head all the time and she lets me. I like to wake up foster dad in the morning by licking his face and laying on top of him to let him know it’s time to start the day and go for a walk! I lack a little bit of confidence, so I hope to find a family that can take great care of me, give me gentle guidance and love, spend fun time together, and teach me lots of new tricks – I’m really smart and learn quickly. My foster dad says my heart is really big, even for an Aussie and I need a family that can love me as much as I love them back.” If you think you can give Huck the home he needs, please fill out an application. If you have already applied, just send us a message.
