Adopted Boots, STAR # 1274

Boots was found at MCAS. It took several baths to reveal the beautiful shiny black dog with a curly coat. The Butler family are looking for an active companion for their female Lab and the kids. The boot is a puppy but after a few lessons will be perfect for them. Thanks to Julie for fostering Boots and putting up with his quirky funny personality (this dog talks).

Adoption Pending Boots, STAR # 1274
Boots is a 50 lb. black bi with a crop of fabulous shiny ebony curls on his back.

After being left in a crate far too long at the shelter and suffering from kennel cough, Boots was a bit wild, played way too hard, barked all the time, and was an unhappy, crate shy dog. After a month in foster care, he has settled into a medium energy happy dog, who still likes to chew, (ugh), runs like the wind, quiets quickly inside and crates easily with a treat offering. It’s cute that he talks when he’s hungry and talks when he needs to go outside. He does manage to counter surf once in a while, tears any paper left sitting around, and can become destructive if left unsupervised. He’s pretty good on a leash but will need more work. No children under the age of 10 at this time and no idea about cats.

The boot is a lovable pup, and I believe his speed and talent for catching balls and frisbees might make him a good sports dog. He gets along with other dogs, needs help with some commands, and would benefit from professional training, as would any one-year-old pup. He will need someone patient and loving with a sense of humor that can laugh at his trickery. If you would like to meet Boots, please fill out an application, he’s waiting just for you.
