Max, STAR # 1539

Max, STAR # 1539

Max had found his forever home !!!!  Phoenix, Class of 2020 mentioned to Stephen that he needed a playmate… and the deed was done.. Instant BFFs.. We think Stephen is not going to be bored at all in the coming weeks.. Thanks to Nicole and Gavin for fostering this happy pup..
From his foster family….
“My name is Max! I am a ~40 lbs. black tri male with a cute freckled nose and paws! I was found wandering the streets in NW Houston and was very skinny and needed some human love and attention. Now that I am with STAR I am so happy that my wiggle butt never stops. The vet thinks I am about 2 years old but my foster parents think I am closer to 1.
I am very sweet and so happy all the time. I love people, snuggles, other animals, and playtime! Running circles around the backyard and wrestling with my Aussie foster brother and sister are some of my favorite activities. I also like to play with my cat foster brother. We get along well but he gets upset with me when I try to play too rough. He doesn’t like to play as much as my dog foster siblings. I also love walks and car rides. After a long day of play, all I want to do is snuggle up on your lap for some belly rubs!
Some of my dislikes include playtime ending, not being able to sleep in the bed with my foster parents, waiting for breakfast/dinner, and going potty on wet grass.
When I came to STAR I had to learn a lot, even my name! My foster parents tell me I learn fast and I am improving every day. I love food and treats and learn quickly with these rewards. Food is the best! But I get nervous that my foster siblings might steal my food so I prefer to enjoy my meals alone. I still have a lot to learn but I have been practicing basic commands like sit, down, stay, come, off, leave it… I get so excited that I jump for joy and I am still learning that I shouldn’t jump on people. I do well in my crate but would not like being in the crate for long periods every day, I would rather be with you! I am very curious and love to explore and find new things. sometimes I explore places I shouldn’t and find things I am not supposed to play with. My foster parents don’t like it when I carry around their slippers!
I would love a forever home with another dog to play with, as long as they can tolerate my energy! Or a home as an only dog with lots of plans for walks/runs so I can get enough exercise to get my energy out! I would love to be your companion and best friend forever!”
Max’s foster home is in Houston.. He is being overlooked because of
“black dog syndrome”  This is a great little dog with a great temperament.. If you think he is your dog, please go
to the website, read about Adoption and submit an application.. Or if
you already have one, simply Contact Us or PM on Facebook..
