Lucy Katy, STAR #1706

ADOPTED

Lucy Katy, STAR #1706

Lucy Katy was adopted by a Karen K and husband who are so happy to have her join their family.  They had recently lost their fur friends and had a place in their hearts that were ready to love another.  Lucy Katy gets a huge back yard to run around in and may even learn sign language!  We are so happy for Lucy and know she’ll get lots of love, kindness, and continued training.  Thank you, Nancy for fostering and Mack for arranging transport.

Lucy is a sweet, cuddly, and active 2-yr old black-tri Aussie. She is a boisterous and fun-loving girl who loves to be the center of attention and play, play, play! She currently weighs 55lbs.
She could be an only dog as long as there’s lots of activity, exercise, and mental enrichment involved.  She’d do great with other dogs too – but they need to be sturdy as she loves to play, chase, and herd.
Lucy Katy is spayed and up to date on her shots.  She was well behaved at the vet, after she finished giving everyone hugs and kisses.  Loves to chase a tennis ball but needs some training on “return” as she likes to first drop/toss it a few times for additional entertainment.  She is quite the character!
She is still very much a typical energetic two-year-old, but not destructive.  She’s very Velcro – and does follow you everywhere and will lay at or on your feet to be close to you.
She has the potential to be a great agility dog or go the distance with dock diving but could quickly become your cuddle buddy on the couch (after some energy depletion as energy is something that Lucy has in abundance)!
Lucy is a brilliant dog and needs a human or family who can work on training and dog etiquette to help her be her best self.
If you are interested in Lucy, please go to the website, read about Adoption and submit an application.  Her foster home is in Houston.
Lucy Katy (Roxie) was adopted about a year ago and has come back to STAR at no fault of her own.  Adopters who return STAR dogs happens now and then, and our commitment to these STAR dogs is for their lifetime.   We are happy to welcome have her back!  She is brilliant, cute, and very high energy – and just too much for her household. She’s being vetted and evaluated in her foster home in Houston.  She may be available late January.
What we knew about Lucy Katy a year ago:
Lucy is a sweet, cuddly, and crazy one-year-old black tri Aussie. She is a boisterous and fun-loving adolescent that wants to be the center of attention. Lucy LOVES to play with other dogs and would do great in a home with another dog or two to play with and show her the ropes. Lucy could be an only dog, but she will expect her humans to match her energy and keep her entertained.
Lucy is a brilliant dog and needs a human (or two) who can work on training with her and help Lucy discover what she wants to do with her life. She has the potential to be a great agility dog or go the distance with dock diving but could quickly become your cuddle buddy on the couch (after a good walk or two). Energy is something that Lucy has in abundance, and STAR is looking for a family that will provide lots of exercise, love, patience, and training.
Lucy is crate trained and spends the night in her crate, but she will remind you that she needs to go out BEFORE you make coffee in the morning (or she will serenade you until you let her out). Lucy is house trained and prefers to do her business and come back inside. Before coming to STAR, she spent most of her days hanging out in the backyard, and she is eager to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Lucy will play in the backyard when other dogs are available to play with or when you bring a tennis ball launcher or frisbee outside to engage with her. Lucy has shown signs of being a water dog and would probably enjoy pool time just as much as you do.
Overall, Lucy is a fantastic dog. She is everything a 1-year-old Australian Shephard should be. But, could she use some etiquette and training? Yes, but Lucy will make sure that your life is never boring.
If you are interested in Lucy, please go to the website, read about Adoption and submit an application.. Her foster home is in Schertz..
