Adopted Judy, STAR # 1237

Beautiful red merle female found tied to a tree in Mississippi, transferred to STAR by kind rescuers and treated for heartworms. Judy has found a forever home with past adopter Rich and his STAR dog, Spike/aka Parker Owen, Class of 2012. Her days will be filled with fun and a playmate. Thanks to her Mississippi rescuers, Elaine, Su, Jane, and the
Carpenters for helping Judy on her way healthy and happy.

Available Dog Judy, STAR # 1237
Our girl, Judy was found chained to a tree in Mississippi by some wonderful rescue people who convinced her owner to give her up. Eventually, she was transported to STAR for vetting and placement. Below is what Judy’s foster mom says about this lively and beautiful Aussie girl.

“Judy is a 2-4-year-old red Merle. She is a tall dog and weighs about 55 lbs. She has been shaved on her body but her coat has grown about two inches. Her head and neck coat are beautiful. She has one blue eye. She has been spayed vaccinated and microchipped. She is a smart Aussie and learns quickly. She walks well with a gentle leader leash. She has learned to sit for dinner and treats. She has learned to down for treats also. She will bark at strangers but accepts them quickly. Judy has recently finished undergoing heartworm treatment and will be back to her very active self in no time. She is probably too bouncy for small children. She does chase squirrels and probably cats although she doesn’t know any. Judy will do much better in a home if she has a sturdy playmate..this is a very playful girl. She has one trait that none of my dogs have, she will unwind herself on her own if her leash gets wrapped around a tree or pole. Maybe that’s because she was found chained to a tree.”

Judy is a super Aussie waiting for her forever home. If you would like to meet Judy, please send in an application or contact STAR if you already have an application and think you might be a match. Judy’s foster home is in NW Houston and you must go there to meet her.

New Dog
We know little about Judy other than she is being transported to STAR this week from Laurel, Mississippi and is Heartworm positive. she’s 4 years old and already bald pretty red merle girl.

Update. Judy will be available for adoption around the middle of May. She’s a high energy girl. Housebroken and cratetrained, she is good with other dogs but needs obedience.
