Inizio “Zio” – STAR, #2028

IniZio “Zio” gets to go home with Sheryl and Michael, where’s there’s also a female fur buddy waiting and ready to show him all around his new home.  From stray to STAR to an Aussie savvy home, ready to give him lots of TLC is such a win in our book.  Thank you, Nancy for fostering.

IniZio “Zio” is an absolutely handsome black tri male, around 2-years-old and weighs approximately 40lbs. He has all of his vaccinations, is neutered and tested negative for Heartworms. From his foster mom:

Zio came to us as a found stray the finder could not keep.  He is timid at first but warms up to you quickly. He is all about being close to you and no place is safe from his closeness. He likes to talk and will carry on a full conversation with you if you are up to it. Of course, I have no idea what we are saying to each other.

He is well behaved in the house and has free roam during the day and most nights. He is still crated overnight on occasion just to keep him comfortable being in his crate.  He goes in with just a directional gesture.

He is active but not overly active. He does well with the two resident Aussies, but it took a couple of weeks for him to really feel comfortable with them and to initiate play.

He will definitely benefit from some training and support in socialization skills.  He is good with sit and definitely knows what treats are and learns quickly where they are stored.

To learn more about Zio, your first step is to complete an adoption application, and we’ll get in touch.

Zio is a black tri male who was found running in the Patterson and Hwy 6 intersection in Houston. No collar and no chip – and the finder was unable to find the owner. He appears to be around 3 years old and 50lbs. He’s been transferred to STAR in a foster home in Houston. If this is your dog, be prepared to show proof of ownership and pay our expenses to date. he may be available late September pending his health status.
