Adopted Mello, STAR # 1337
Mello has finally left the building after his heartworm treatment was delayed by Harvey.. Loving boy will have a great home with Pam and Andy and Aussie mix, Millie.. Thanks to Tim for the home visit and huge thanks to John for teaching Mello that life on a chain was not all there is and that people, other dogs and indoor living are not so bad.
Available Dog Mello, STAR # 1337
Hi, my name is Mello. My name seems to fit. I was found running with a 10’ chain tied to me. Life was bad! Somehow I ended up as a STAR dog. Let me tell you what a life change it has been. I have been through a lot. I was very afraid of everything, men especially but my foster dad has helped me with this. I’m a 40 lb 3-4-year-old red tri male. I’ve been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Sadly I was heartworm positive. I’m currently finishing up week 4 of my treatment. I have been staying at a nice home with other animals…four dogs and two cats, chickens, and turkeys. We all get along fine. Actually, I think I would like to have a new brother or sister so I will know what to do. I am feeling much better these days.. I have discovered toys and how to play. I want to play ball in the yard but dad tells me I have to wait until my HW treatment is complete. I have good house manners and am crate trained. I can be stubborn sometimes about going outside and into my crate but patience and a gentle touch help me come around. I have been to the groomer and did very well. My coat was sun bleached but is changing gradually to a beautiful dark red color. I’m looking for a forever home that will continue to love and train me with the understanding that I’ve never had it before. I have a lot of love to give and will be the most loyal friend. Mello’s foster home is in Sweeny. If you would like to meet Mello, please go to our website, read about adoption and submit an application.
