Blue Rock, STAR # 1879
STAR Alumni Zach has been looking for a buddy for Juno, STAR #1670 ’21 and Blue Rock wins the prize to join their family! We look forward to hearing about the adventures ahead. Thank you, Nancy for fostering this big, tall boy.
AVAILABLE DOG – Blue Rock, STAR #1879
Blue Rock is an owner release as he was “too much” dog for this elderly owner. We get it!! – he’s a big, energetic boy at 3 years old, 65lbs and tall. He can’t help it if he has Tina Turner legs! From his foster mom:
“Blue Rock is a larger-than-life Aussie. He’s very athletic and strong with long legs that can carry him quickly into adventures. He came to us after seemingly spending a large amount of time in an outdoor kennel and needs refresher courses on manners and his house training. He is smart and learns fast. He has not been destructive, and begrudgingly responds to ‘no’.
He does jump on new people and needs correction in that area. He jumps up and around me but not on me. He does wait for you to exit through the door before exiting himself. He is high energy when first “activated” but also will happily lay at your feet under the desk.
Highly food and treat motivated. He does know sit, most of the time. Once you get him in his crate for an overnight sleep, he will stay quiet. Using a lead is the easiest way to lead him into the crate as he likes to do an ‘evasive dance’ to avoid it.
He’s very playful and has started bringing a toy to be thrown for him. He just doesn’t get the let go part of it yet.
He gets along great with his fur roommates (Aussie Shepherds), various sizes and ages, both male and female.
It seems he initially had a good start in life and then was sent on an uncertain path. He is a gentle soul looking for a place to settle in for the rest of his life.”
Blue Rock is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, chipped and heart worm negative. His DOB is 3/03/2021 so he’s nearing his third birthday. He has a very tiny blue speck in his right eye.
If you are interested in learning more about this good boy, you must fill out an adoption application first – on our website under “Adopt”
Blue comes to STAR from an elderly owner who asked for help – hoping for a home more in line with his energy level. Blue is 2-3 years old and 60lbs! He’s a big, tall boy. He is neutered and we will get him checked out at the vet. Blue will be fostered and evaluated in Katy. He should be available for adoption around the first of February.
