Adopted
Apple, STAR #1470
Adopted. Apple, STAR #1470
Apple will live in Houston with very dog savvy Steve and Ann and their pack including a male Aussie and two small dogs. Many thanks to Deb and Jim for fostering Apple.
Available Dog. Apple, STAR #1470
Apple was found in N. Texas by a good Samaritan and given to STAR. She is approx. 18 mos. and 40 lbs. She has spent a month in foster care now is ready for her new home. Here is what her foster mom writes about Apple.
Apple is approximately 18 months old. She is sweet and loving. A little shy at first but will offer her belly for a rub soon after that. A precious loving heart and so very gentle. She still needs consistent manners training but some of that is due to her age and exuberance. No digging or other destructive behaviors that I have seen.
Typical Velcro Aussie. Loves her foster brother and sister and good with children. Loves toys. Wants to be petted and loved forever! As with all Aussies, this is not a dog for someone who wants to just play computer all day as she craves attention.
Crate and potty trained. I have to warn you she doesn’t fall for the tiny treat to crate up. She will hold out for the good stuff. Lol. She also uses a dog door well.
Barks outside but quiet inside, except when it thunders. She has a need to answer the thunder with a loud bark too. She got worked up with the two thunderstorms we have had, but not destructive. I don’t know how she would do alone with a storm.
She was a stray, so some minor medical issues. She had infected ears and a scratch on the eye, both healing nicely. She has been spayed and is heart worm negative.
Apple is being foster in Clear Lake. If you would like to meet her, please fill out an application on our website or if you already have one write to us on the Contact Us.
