ADOPTED

Kiyah, STAR # 1769

Our beautiful, sweet and fun-loving Kiyah has been adopted by the Laughlin family and her Aussie sister, Piper.. Many thanks to Terry for the transport and then huge thanks to foster home Amy and her boys Huck and Merlin..

Kiyah is a beautiful blue merle female. She is 1.5 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. Kiyah is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

  • Eats well and wants to you to stay close by.
  • An occasional counter and furniture surfer.
  • Gets along fine with other dogs and loves to rough-house play.
  • Walks on a leash well – no pulling.
  • Not cat tested.
  • Too boisterous around young children.
She has an anxiety or boredom behavior from her previous home which results in her licking her front legs. Vet says it is “boredom” and defined it as Acral Lick Granuloma. Topical spray and verbal commands work great – and it is improving.. but the new owner will need to keep an eye on it. Foster mom says: if I notice her licking them, I calmly say “Kiyah, no licking” and she stops.”
Kiyah would do best in an Aussie-savvy home with at least one or two sturdy dogs to keep her busy and not bored. No young kids. Too much time in a crate would not be good for her. She is a real sweetheart and will make a fun pet for the right family.

To place an application, please go to our website, read about Adoption, and submit an application.  Kiyah’s foster home is in Houston.

Kiyah was a gift that the owner was unable to keep.. She is 1.5 years old and 55 lbs. of blue merle female.. She is already spayed and will be fully vetted and evaluated in Houston.  Kiyah should be available for adoption around the middle of September.
