Picked up as a stray in Baytown, Texas, she found her way to STAR after her owners never came to claim her. Now she’s ready to find the forever family she was always meant to have.

This happy-go-lucky girl greets every morning with enthusiasm. The moment her crate door opens, she’s off and running, ready to see what exciting adventures the day has in store. Willow is incredibly social and absolutely loves people, other dogs, toys, balls, sticks – you name it! Her zest for life is contagious.

Willow is the definition of an active young Australian Shepherd. She is smart, curious, athletic, and always eager to explore. Throw a ball, a toy, or even a stick, and she’ll happily chase it down before racing right back for another round. Turn on the garden hose, and you’ve found her version of an amusement park! If you’re hoping she’ll eventually tire out, don’t count on it—this girl has energy to spare.

She’s also proving to be a wonderful walking companion. With consistency and guidance, she’s already making great progress and recently earned an enthusiastic “A+” from her foster mom after a walk. Willow is eager to learn and responds well to positive direction.

Like many young Aussies, Willow will thrive with an adopter who understands the breed and is committed to continuing her training. She isn’t looking for someone who wants a dog that already knows everything, she’s looking for someone excited to help her become the incredible companion she’s destined to be. Her ideal home will be active, engaged, and ready to include her in daily adventures. Hiking, jogging, long walks, agility, flyball, fetch marathons, or simply keeping busy together, Willow is ready for it all. She’ll do best with both the physical exercise and mental enrichment that Australian Shepherds crave.

Homes with young children are not a good match based on her strong herding instinct – she will nip to control and play with running things (standard Aussie trait) which will likely overwhelm small children. We will not consider a home with children under the age of 12.

Willow is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm prevention.
