Tucker Blue, STAR #1892

ADOPTED

Tucker Blue, STAR #1892

Tucker has found his family, and his new buddy is Harper, an Aussie cattle dog. Harper came from WAGS in Houston, and after having time to settle into her home with Brea and Scott – she gets a brother! Lucky boy, Tucker! So many adventures ahead for both Harper and Tucker with walks on trails near the bayou, playing ball in the back yard and more. Thank you, Brandi & family for fostering Tucker and to both Sheila and Amy for temp fostering. Thank you, Polly for the home visit.
Tucker is a very handsome 1-year-old, 60-pound pup full of playful energy.
He loves spending his day wrestling with the other dog in the house. He loves his foster family and shows this by putting his head on their shoulders and giving a Tucker hug.
He has gotten along with the humans he has met including a 10-year-old.
He seems interested in the cats and has barked but has not chased them. On walks, he needs a firm hand because he is very strong. However, he is very good about listening if he sees other dogs and has not attempted to meet them without parental approval. He does love his walks to be leisurely with a good deal of sniffing.
Tucker goes into his crate easily with a treat. He doesn’t bark when he’s in the crate. He occasionally barks when he is outside but that’s usually when the dogs next door bark.
Tucker shares his toys, treats and sometimes meals with the other dog. He takes treats nicely and sometimes tentatively. He loves trying new fruits and vegetables. He loves to be outside chasing balls and frisbees.
Tucker has good recall and comes when called.
Tucker needs some basic manners and would benefit from basic manners/obedience classes. He needs an Aussie savvy/big dog savvy home and ideally, a sturdy playmate to keep him active and keep up with his energy level.
To learn more about Tucker, please complete an adoption application on our website (See Adopt; scroll to bottom). His foster home is in San Antonio.
