Tristan, STAR # 1519

ADOPTED

Tristan, STAR # 1519

Tristan will be moving to Richmond to live with the Morton family and new brother, Auggie.. Two prick earred handsome guys.. Pulled from the shelter in Austin, Tristan is a wonderful dog.. Thanks to Julie for picking him up and loving him.
Hi – I’m Tristan!  I am an absolutely lovely gentlemen of a dog.  My foster mom says I’m her favorite foster so far, and I believe her.  When I was picked up at the kennel, my coat was dull and skin flaky and crusty.  After a round of antibiotics, allergy meds and a medicated bath – I’m 100% recovered and my coat is shiny and soft.  I was very shy and afraid of attention at first, but love, routine, and time has given me confidence that I’m safe and secure – coming out of my shell for sure!
Here’s what my foster family loves about me:
  *  Shy and quiet (does not bark, so far)
  *  Big, soft pointy ears
  *  Wants to be #1 on your lap – to the point of being an attention hog and shoves his brothers away with his body (rude!, haha)
  *  Loves to cuddle and be scratched hours and hours (will put paw over cell phone if you are paying more attention to it than him)
  *  No problem of fear of kennel (only in when no one is home)
  *  Gets along well with cats
  *  Playful, but not rough
  *  Loves to run at full speed and chase balls (but does not return them)
  *  Sits for treats and greets
  *  House trained (have found no accidents)
  *  When I lie down and curl into a circle, I look like a fox – super cute!
Things to work on:
– Learning sense of personal space (wait, is that really a problem?)
– Sharing attention with fur siblings, figuring out the pecking order
– Stairs – still not sure what they are, and not at all interested in learning – currently terrified and I must be carried down if I do get up
– Walking on leash – I’m pretty good but need to learn some commands and how to walk straight
– Occasional counter surfing and trash can investigations
I’m in home now with 2 (sometimes 3 other dogs) and I don’t try to be in charge – I’m cool following along.  The youngest human in the house is 15, but I think I’d do really well with younger kids too.  Like other Aussies my age, I love exercise and need to get my zoomies out multiple times a day – so a yard and active lifestyle would be best for me.
Tristan is a 40 lb. 2 year old red tri male.. He is full vetted and microchipped. If you would like to meet Tristan, please read about Adoption and submit
an application.. If you already have one Contact us or PM us on FB..
Tristan’s foster home is in Austin.
