Rudy, STAR #1904

ADOPTED

Rudy, STAR #1904

Mr. Handsome Red Rudy was adopted by STAR Alumni family – the Drakes [Kerry, STAR #1290]. Rudy came to us from Louisiana and goes from stray to shelter to STAR to a wonderful home with new buddy, Pepper. Thank you, Elaine for getting him to STAR. Thank you, Sean and Kristin for another great foster job.
Rudy is a handsome, red bi male, approximately 2-years-old and weighs 40lbs. He came to STAR from a shelter in LA. Since with STAR, he has been fully vetted and neutered. He’s ready for adoption!
About Rudy:
Rudy is a fireball of sweetness and fluffiness! He’s a very active dog during the day and a quiet cuddler at night. He loves to lay in your lap and lounge while you brush him, or just lounge on you. Rudy is unaware of personal space, but that is an Aussie thing!
He loves the park and walks. Rudy’s outlook on walks is exuberant with leaps of joy as you try to get the lead on. Rudy has made good progress on waiting for the lead to be put on, then the casual walk or ride can go smoothly. He’s a good car rider.
Rudy would do best in a home with a sturdy companion – as he loves playtime and has a lot of energy.
He shows protective qualities – with barking and growling and making sure he’s in between the new thing and his human. Other times you can open a garbage bag and he will run and hide behind his humans! Rudy can hold grumbling debates with you from under the recliner, trying to convince you that the shadow outside the front door needs your immediate attention.
While Rudy is in a foster home with cats – it’s a love/hate relationship. Rudy will leave a cat alone, unless the cat initiates a chase – and then it’s on!
He’s a smart boy -and the following commands are understood sit, wait, come, leave it, drop it and with every Aussie “OMG what do you have? Also – “Drop it!”, which his foster home has learned is the way to initiate a fun chase. He’s house trained and crate trained. Rudy is not currently a pool enthusiast but is thinking about it in this heat.
His rough start in life only makes him that much more endearing to see the beautiful proud healthy boy that is ready to please.
If you’d like to learn more about Rudy, step #1 is to fill out an adoption application under “Adopt” on our website. Rudy’s foster home is in Spring/TX.
