Flash, STAR #1926
Happy to announce that Flash is heading home alumni – Yeagy family, and gets a built-in buddy with their STAR dog, Billy (#1787). We look forward to seeing all of the fun and adventures. Thank you so much to Wendy and Gilbert for a wonderful foster job.
Flash is a handsome Black Bi Male – estimated to be around 6 years old and 45lbs. He was left in a back yard after the hurricane and came to STAR. He was positive for heartworms and has been treated. He’s healthy and ready to find his furever home. Here’s an update from his foster mom:
Flash is one playful Aussie who can’t get enough of fetch, butt scratches, water hose fun, and loves to herd his ball around in the yard. He will almost always follow you around with some sort of toy in his mouth excited for you to stop what you are doing for a quick game of fetch.
Although initially shy, Flash has learned to approach strangers with confidence and is always eager to initiate playtime. He loves kids and will play gently with them. Flash doesn’t care much for dog socializing with dogs he meets, but he won’t start any trouble. For example, he is the type of dog who if he was at the dog park would be more focused on his ball than dogs or any other chaos around him. He gets along fine with his dog buddies at home.
He’s a quick learner, picks up new tricks, easily responds well to food motivation, and he walks best in a martingale collar. Flash has been trained to use a crate but may bark when confined. Despite this, he is not destructive; he is trustworthy when home alone and doesn’t bark much (unless his dog buddies start barking).
Overall, Flash is a delightful and happy dog who has been a pleasure to foster.
Please fill out an adoption application if you’d like to learn more about Flash for potential adoption.
Flash is a handsome Black Bi Male – estimated to be around 6 years old and 45lbs. He was left in the backyard of a damaged home in Freeport, after the hurricane. He will be neutered and fully vetted by STAR. UPDATE: Sadly, Flash is HW positive so we will treat him. This pushes back is possible readiness date to around early Oct.
