River Blue, STAR #2012
Little Ms. Sassy (aka River Blue) used those mesmerizing blue eyes on Jeff and Jackie and gets to live a great life with a great back yard, pool and golfers to bark at! This family is up for all the energy a puppy brings and we hope to see them contact STAR again soon for a fur buddy for this busy girl. Thank you, Nancy for fostering.
River Blue is a Black Tri Female – and is around 18 weeks old (as of late July ’25). Here’s her bio from her foster mom:
River Blue is a sassy little girl with the most mesmerizing blue eyes. She is what being a puppy is all about, smart, spirited and curious about everything.
She has current vaccinations, her first adult set, and is on Sentinel heart worm tablets already.
River Blue gets along great with her Aussie roommates but does play like a tomboy. She does not realize she is the smallest of the group and is always ready to play. She loves to be in your lap but is a real wiggle worm until she settles down. She needs all the usual puppy guidance. She does well on her house training but is not perfect yet.
She can be cautious when she first meets you but warms up quickly. She does have a tendency to want to jump up on you when she’s excited which is often, so she will need training in general good girl manners. She does bark, but not excessively and mostly during rough and tumble play.
She goes in her crate well for overnights but can be vocal if she wants/needs out. She will complain a bit but quiets down for the night.
River Blue is a blank canvas just waiting for the right artist to complete her life.
To learn more – you must first complete an adoption application under “Adopt” on our website. You’ll need to complete a phone interview and a home visit before being able to plan a meet/greet for this darling little girl. She’ll be adopted out with a spay contract when she’s closer to 1 year of age.
River Blue is a 16-week-old puppy (as of July 10). She’s a black tri-female who was released to STAR when the older dog in the home was not tolerating her and she was constantly having to be kept separate – and the family wanted a better life for her. We will evaluate her and get full vetting and a microchip. She will be adopted out with a spay contract. Her foster home is in Houton, and she may be available late July.
