Rexi, STAR # 1749

Rexi was adopted by Karl. Rexi is heading to a dog savvy home, with new buddies – Border Collie, Helen who is deaf, and Aussie Lola. Karl is an EMT educator and his hoping to take Rexi along with him on some trips and training. Thank you, Renee for fostering this handsome boy.

Rexi is a handsome boy – big boy (70lbs!).  He’s been with STAR about a month and so far, this what we know.

He gets along with the other pets in the home (small dogs and cats).  He sometimes shows some interest in playing but then will back off when they become a little defensive, but no aggression – just turns timid.  He easily goes into cage/kennel for his reward treat. He eats inside the kennel as well and is very comfortable in there.  He will sit if you ask him too.  Most of the time he knows where his foster family is, especially foster mom, and sits near her or by the bedroom if door closed – he is very loyal.  He has a lot of energy and can be overwhelming due to his size – so would not recommend him around younger children (though he has been around a small child and interacted well).  He would do good in a home with a big yard and sturdy companions.  So smart and he’s learning fast on teaching manners and correcting his behavior when instructed – he really loves to make you happy!

Rexi is 7 years old and weighs just over 70 lbs.  He is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.. This energetic guy has not had the benefit of any training as he lived outdoors.. He is ready to be molded into the perfect dog.. His foster home is working to give him a head start .. He is in San Antonio for fostering and evaluation.. Rexi should be available for adoption around the first of July..
