HAPPY TAIL

Ozzy, STAR # 1733

Ozzy, our handsome red boy caught the eye of a long-waiting and patient adopting family who was looking for the right dog to come along to join their family.  Ozzy is now a member of the Skarke family and has lots of action coming his way with human buddies and fur buddy, Finley.  He gets a new great home and weekend visits to the family ranch – welcome to the STAR alumni family Skarkes!  Thank you, Victoria and Leo for fostering this good boy.

Ozzy is approximately 12 months old.   He is neutered, current on his vaccinations. HW – and microchipped.. His last vet visit had his weight at 44 lbs. but he has been eating well and may weigh more. He eats about 1 cup of kibble morning and evening.  From his foster mom:
He can walk 2 miles with no problem. He has good energy throughout the day. He does need work on his commands, a basic citizenship class would be good. He likes to play with a rope toy and will chew on a Nylabone and other toys.  Ozzy does well on the leash. He does not pull unless he is smelling something interesting. He is not reactive to other dogs.
Ozzy can very easily reach most countertops, so his new forever home will need to guard against counter/table surfing. He goes into his crate at night and enjoys his bedtime treat before settling down. He has learned that the crate will not open until he is sitting and I make him Stay until I
have the door open, then I let him out – where he wiggles with joy. Rather than just a wiggle butt, Ozzy has a squiggle butt, so energetic that sometimes his feet come out from under him and he lands on his butt.
Ozzy will need time to learn where the door is that he needs to go out of, but he is house trained. He understands “outside”.
All in all, Ozzy is a sweet, lovable youngster of an Aussie. He’s eager to please and wants only to be with you. He would do well with an active family that can keep him engaged and busy. He does well with other dogs, but no small dogs or children as he does not seem to recognize personal space.
If you are interested in meeting Ozzy, please go to our website, read about Adoption and submit an application. Ozzy’s foster home is in Corpus Christi.
