ADOPTED

Lola, STAR #2058

Lola has been adopted by the Machado family! She’ll get to be an only dog, so she’ll get all the attention with lots of TLC, walks and hikes in and around the Austin area. Thank you, Beth G for fostering and to Beth S. on transport.
Lola is a petite 6-year-old Australian Shepherd weighing in at just 22 pounds. She is healthy, spayed and up to date on all vaccinations.
Lola bonds closely with her humans and loves nothing more than being on your lap, getting pets, or quietly relaxing nearby. She takes a little time to warm up to men, but she truly loves all people—she just prefers to get to know you at her own pace. Once she feels safe (usually within a day or two), she becomes an affectionate, happy cuddler who wants to be close at all times.
She is low-energy and easygoing, enjoying short zoomies in the yard before heading back inside to relax. While she can live peacefully with other dogs, Lola would thrive best as the only dog in the home. She prefers having her people all to herself and can be protective of lap time. She does well when fed separately and is comfortable eating in her crate.
Lola is quiet and well-mannered (not a barker at all). She is crate trained and sleeps peacefully throughout the night. She is great on a leash with no pulling. She is great with our cat and doesn’t mind our chickens.
She hasn’t shown much interest in stuffed toys yet, but she loves chew toys and hollow bones filled with peanut butter. Lola would be happy with a big yard or a small one—she’s not a high-energy dog and is perfectly content being an indoor companion.
Ideal Home:
A calm home where Lola can be the center of attention, soak up all the love, and spend her days cuddling. She would be perfect for someone looking for a loyal, low-energy companion in a smaller, easy-to-manage package. Lola does show alpha and possessive tendencies and will not do well with another female dog. Best option is to be an only dog, or maybe a very laid-back male.
Lola is ready to go – all she needs now is her forever family Her foster home is in Spring, TX.

Lola is a petite black-tri female around 6 years of age and around 25lbs. She was not getting along with the other female dog in the home but was fine around the kids and liked other male dogs. We’ll assess her in a foster home in Austin and find her a home as an only dog or with other male dogs.
