Mia Blue, STAR #1884

ADOPTED

Mia Blue, STAR #1884

Our little energetic girl, Mia, is heading home with Dave, Louis and her new fur buddy, Colby (r).  There’s an older Aussie waiting at home – and as we like to say, “3 Aussies = Perfect”.  Thank you, Brian for fostering and Terry for the home visit.

Mia is a 40-pound energetic Blue Merle female.  She comes to STAR well trained, knowing many commands and does great in a crate and loves people/other dogs.  She’s a young girl – around 1.5 years old.

Her energy level is at the highest when you first come home or let her out of her crate, and she will paw/nose you when she needs to let some energy out.

Right now, she has plenty of playmates to help release energy with so a home with another playful Aussies or fur buddy would be the best. She does a really good job of calming down and is a great dog to sit down with and watch a movie as she likes to cuddle.

If left on her own, she will find, and chew socks and other things left on the floor including plush toys. She has gotten better at that being left alone with other dogs who know how to relax when humans are away.

Mia is a Velcro dog and really just wants to be with her humans. She will make a great companion to someone who is patient and can handle her few “work in progress” qualities (notably jumping).  She’s smart and quick learner – proven by improvement in many areas after just a few weeks of fostering.

She could make the perfect running companion – or one that will hit the trails with you on walks and hikes.  She could be an only dog pending the home has lots of plans for exercise and enrichment as she matures.

If you’d like to learn more about Mia Blue, please fill out an adoption application – under “Adopt” on our website.  We will review and contact you as soon as possible.  Her foster home is in Austin.

Mia (formerly Ruby, STAR #1884) was adopted, but returned for being too much for the family with an Autistic son.  She’s back with STAR for reevaluation and placement in a home that will better suit her energy level and need for a fur buddy.  Her foster home is in Austin, and she could be available in mid-to-late June.
