Marzo, STAR #1855
Marzo is heading home with Zach and has lots of love and excitement in his future. Zach loves to hit the trails and go hiking – and is happy to have a buddy to join him. Zach had an Aussie/Lab mix in the past (Rocco) that he lost at age 14 and he’s ready to give another a great home. Thanks, Nancy for fostering this boy and the team that helped with transport and a home visit.
Marzo is a red merle male about three years old. He weighs around 50 pounds, is up to date on his vaccinations, heart worm negative and neutered.
He came to us with a skin issue which has been resolved and the beautiful Aussie fur is beginning to recover on his rear hind quarters. He is bath friendly; he loves the attention and caressing and is very patient with the ordeal.
He does have a dominant streak but gets along well with his Aussie roommates, two males and one female. He and the seven-year-old female will occasionally have a short-lived disagreement. His two male roommates are 7 years and one and a half years old. He plays well with others but can play a little rough at times.
He wants to be close to you, always. Just a look from you will have him stop what he is doing and come to see if you want to give him pets.
He crates easily and doesn’t complain too much. You will definitely know when he wants out to go outside. He currently sleeps overnight crated and has supervised free roam of the house otherwise. He is fed in his crate and goes there to wait on dinner. He will let you know if you are taking too long.
He is good at fetch and mostly returns the toy to you. He is not overly destructive and takes correction well.
He is in need of training and guidance in manners. He does get excited and wants to jump on you but knows sit and will sit but not really stay in sit. His desire to be close to you makes him be a bit under your feet at times.

Marzo was found abandoned in a backyard. He is a red merle male approx. 50 lbs. and 3 years old. He will be vetted and evaluated by his foster home in Katy… Marzo should be available for adoption at the end of September.
Update from Foster: Marzo needed some TLC on his skin and coat – and it’s looking great after some medicated baths and high-quality food. He is pretty good at fetch and even brings it back to you. He’s getting along well with all the other dogs in the house and loves to play. It seems his nub of tail wags constantly, it’s a wonder it doesn’t spin off.
