Jasper, STAR #1858

ADOPTED

Jasper, STAR #1858

Jasper flew in from Hammond, LA to be a STAR dog and quickly was enamored with and captured the heart of his foster mom with his blue eyes and silly ways.  His foster mom, Sue, said he “moved right-in” and adapted quickly to the routine, being Raven’s (STAR #1211) best buddy!   This Mr. Smarty Pants will be staying with Sue and is certain to be a quick learner.  Thank you to Pilots-n-Paws for getting Jasper to STAR.

Jasper is a red tri male with two beautiful blue eyes. 2-years old and 35 lbs.

From his foster mom:

“Jasper is a playful, loving and kind young dog.  He seems to just love us!!  He plays most of his waking hours.  He eats very well…another words…he is not a picky eater.  Loves to run, run, run!!  The kiddie pool is just for him to act like a minnow.  When we open his crate door to let him out in the morning, he is up for a race to the back patio door.

He goes into his crate at night with a treat.  Healthy treat!!  I do leave my living room lights on at night where Jasper is.  Because my three other dogs spend most of the night there sleeping on their beds.

Jasper never whines or anything at all until morning time comes. And, he does not wake us up…my current dogs come to get me and we all go back to him and let him out.

He is surprisingly quiet considering his energy level. His barking level is also nice, not overly loud or annoying.

He loves riding in the car.  He does not get carsick. He is not the least bit afraid of fireworks and thunderstorms.

He can and will get on all furniture. I have not tried to correct his getting on the furniture because my three dogs do get on the chairs and couch. He leaps very high but does not ever try to leap over the outdoor gate.

He should always be observed because he does chew things. Do not leave him unattended and uncrated in the house until he matures some!

Whoever gets Jasper will be delighted because he certainly loves people and loves his dog family.

He is so good to look at and much fun to watch.  He learns quickly and is so smart!

I’d love for his adopter to be an active family with a lifestyle of jogging, running, and/or fast walks!  He needs to expend his energy daily!

His health is great.  His positive attitude.  His loving heart. His willingness to try to please. He is so physically beautiful.  He is sleek and willowy. As you can tell, I think he hung the moon!!

Not tested with kids – but slow introductions and positive rewards for good behavior will be key.”

Please fill out an application if you’d like to learn more about adopting this handsome boy.

Jasper flew all the way to Houston from Hammond, La. thanks to Pilots n Paws for foster care. He is a red tri male with two beautiful blue eyes. 2-years old and 35 lbs. Jasper will be vetted and evaluated in Kingwood. Because he is HW-, he should be available for adoption around the middle of October.

Update from Foster:  Jasper moved right in!  He’s adapted well to the crate and sleeps all night without a peep.  In the daytime, he whines a little bit and then settles down. He’s getting along with the fur crew and is engaging in play.  Still a bit of a destructive puppy – he gets on all the furniture. He prowls and he hews. He is not trained to any commands and does not even know sit; but he is extremely smart, and it should not take long to learn.  He can leap tall buildings and run like the wind.  Needs physical exercise and obedience training.
