Ivy, STAR #2159

Ivy has taken up permanent residence with Don and Anita! This is their first STAR Aussie and we are happy to welcome to our family.  Thank you, Choe for another great foster job and to Ellen for the home visit.

💕Meet Ivy 💕 Ivy is a sweet, affectionate girl who is ready to find her forever home! Estimated to be around 2-3 years old, Ivy has been settling in beautifully and continues to show us more of her personality each day.

She absolutely loves people and is wonderful with visitors. She gets along well with her foster family’s dogs and enjoys going on walks. She walks nicely on a leash and has not shown reactivity during walks. Ivy is also a great kennel companion; she sleeps quietly through the night and does well going into her kennel when asked.

Ivy is a smart, food-motivated girl who knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “no.” She’s doing well with house training, with only occasional accidents. She’s also polite around other dogs’ food bowls and doesn’t try to steal their meals. Her curiosity can sometimes get the better of her, especially if she thinks there might be food on the counter, so continued guidance and training will be important.

Ivy is still learning how to interact appropriately with other dogs. She can become overly enthusiastic during play, so she’ll benefit from patient supervision and continued socialization.

Ivy would thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and positive-reinforcement training. She loves chew toys and is gradually discovering what else she enjoys.

If you’re looking for a loving companion with a sweet personality, a little curiosity, and plenty of potential, Ivy may be your girl. 🐾

Meet Ivy….a happy go lucky 10 month old black tri female weighing 30lbs.  She was found dumped and malnourished at a rural airport outside of Houston.  Many thanks go to the good samparitans that took her in, fed her three meals a day and kept her safe until we could get her to STAR!

Ivy will be fostered, spayed and vetted in the Richmond area and should be ready for adoption  mid to late September.

If this is your dog, be prepared to show proof of ownership, vet records, photos and reimburse us for our expenses to date.
