ADOPTED

Fletcher, STAR #2093

Fletcher has been adopted by Paul, Renee and their mini-Aussie, Tipsy. He will get to hang out in a huge, fenced yard with lots of trees, and walks on the trails in the nearby greenbelt. They recently lost their dog Zeus, and we know that Tucker is ready to step into his role as an active buddy for the family.  Thank you, Pam for fostering and David for the home visit.

Meet Fletcher! Your future best friend with a heart as big as his personality.

Fletcher is a one-year-old red tri male, around 40lbs, who was found wandering in the Lufkin area and landed with STAR after no one stepped up to claim him. He’s a lucky STAR boy and his adopter will be lucky to have him!

This is a boy who wakes up every day ready to embrace life. He’s the perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing calm and always up for a game of fetch or a round of zoomies, but just as happy to settle down and relax by your side. His absolute favorite place? Right at your feet… or leaning against you just to make sure you know he’s there.

This sweet, loyal pup is all about his people. Fletcher forms strong bonds and will happily come running when you call and then sit politely right next to you like he’s been doing it forever (because he has!). He already knows “come,” “sit,” “down,” and “no,” and he’s eager to please in everything he does.

Fletcher shines in social situations. He loves meeting new people, does great with men, women, and children, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. In fact, when he meets a new pup, he’ll calmly approach, sit, and wait, but then it’s playtime! He’s currently thriving in his foster home, where he’s made fast friends and proven himself to be a respectful, easy companion with no bad habits.

He’s crate trained, comfortable being left alone when needed, and quickly picked up how to use a doggie door. He enjoys car rides, handles new environments with ease, and spends most of his time out and about, just happy to be part of the family.

Fletcher isn’t food-obsessed, which makes him refreshingly easygoing—he’s more interested in love and companionship than treats. Fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and is all set for his forever home.

If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, loyal dog who will stick by your side and fill your days with joy, Fletcher might just be your perfect match.

IMPORTANT: We do not deliver dogs to adopters. You must be able and willing to come meet the dog in their foster home. A home visit by one of our STAR volunteers is a required part of our adoption program. Adoptions outside of Texas are rare because of these requirements. You must have a secure fence in place, and we are not fans of apartments for this breed, nor homes where the dogs will be home alone 8+ hours daily. All STAR dogs are adopted to be inside pets and family members only and all current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $300 and trust us, we spend that or much more on dogs to get them vetted – all STAR dogs will be neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention. If you already have an application on file with us, you can contact us to let us know you are interested.

Meet Fletcher,  a gorgeous red-tri male, about 1–2 years old and 40 lbs. Fletcher was found in a Lufkin neighborhood and is now safe in a loving foster home in the Houston area thanks to a caring finder who contacted STAR. He’s a sweet, happy boy who’s friendly and affectionate. Fletcher will be neutered and fully vetted and is expected to be ready for adoption in late April. If this is your dog, be prepared to show proof of ownership along with vet records and photos.  You will be required to reimburse us for our expenses to date.
