Jax Red, STAR #1913

Jax Red is heading off to Aggieland to a best buddy and study partner for Cayson. Whoop and Gig’Em- this pair will be working on “their” degree in equine veterinary studies and there could be some agility training in Jax’s future during their spare time. Thank you, Nancy for fostering Jax.

Jax Red is a 1.5-year-old, handsome Red Bi Male, approximately 40 lbs.  He was released to STAR by a family who was no longer able to care for him due to work and travel commitments.  Here’s the update from his foster home:

Jax is a small, sturdy little guy.  He’s a beautiful red and white almost split face with piercing blue eyes.  He’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, chipped and heart worm negative. He loves to be in your lap and will stay close to you otherwise.

I’d say he’s a medium energy but does have his “king of the mountain” moments.  So far, he has not been destructive and knows what is his to play with.

He plays well with his pack mates, both male and female, young and old. These pack mates are larger than him.

He was obviously cared for and loved by his previous human and has not shown any temperament issues other than being a bit Velcro. He is a bit of a toy hoarder and will have all the toys in his bed if you let him. He did not get along in a previous home with a small puppy – so he needs to have like-size or larger playmates and would do great with an alpha female or another easy-going male.

He is crate trained and sleeps overnight in his crate.  Although, he would love to curl up on the bed with you if allowed.  He has not shown any excessive nervousness during inclement weather but does not like getting his feet wet. He is also very photogenic!

If you’d like to learn more, please fill out an application under “Adopt” on our website.  Jax is being fostered in Katy, TX.
