Adoption Pending Zeus Conroe, STAR # 1404
“Hi Everyone! I’m Zeus. I am a friendly and loving neutered male. I weigh about 45 pounds and I’m between 4 and 5 years old. I was adopted from the Conroe Animal Shelter when I was a young boy. I was recently picked up as a stray and returned to the shelter, but for reasons unknown to me, my family didn’t come to get me. My foster mom says that’s okay though because I’m such a sweet and cuddly dog, I’ll have a new family in no time!

My favorite thing to do is hang with my people, and by with I mean on top of, under the feet of, and snuggled right next to. So far, I’ve liked everyone I’ve met, both furry and human, but I haven’t been around any really little people or cats to know what that’s like.

I love to play with other dogs my size. I like the smaller dogs but playing with them isn’t the same as one I can run and wrestle with. I also enjoy walks and car rides. I enjoy going so much that sometimes I pull on the leash and jump around in excitement. My foster mom says that’s something I have to work on, but honestly, I think I do that just fine!

I have some pretty cool skills. I can sit when asked and know how to use a doggie door. I come when I’m called. I’m really good at being quiet so you don’t have to worry about your neighbors complaining. I can jump three feet vertically without any effort whatsoever which means I can be in your lap any time, any place. I do not use that power to counter surf, however. I’m housetrained and I haven’t marked in my foster home which I’m told is awesome.

My foster mom says I’d be a boy’s best friend. She has an 11-year-old boy and I really like him. We do a lot of stuff together. Sometimes we play outside and go for walks but a lot of the time we lay on the couch and play video games or watch TV. I even sleep in my crate (and sometimes out of the crate but don’t tell my foster mom that) in the boy’s room. However, I’m versatile and would do well either with a family or a single person household, with or without other pets. I can be left alone for longer periods of time, either in my crate or outside of it, without barking or being destructive. I need someone who will let me socialize with other dogs if we won’t have any others at home, and someone who will take some time to work with me and teach me the things they want me to know. I’m really smart and I will learn it fast! “

If you would like to meet Zeus, his foster home is in Conroe. Please fill out an application on the website.

New Dog Zeus Conroe, STAR # 1404
Zeus was found at the Conroe Shelter. It appears he was adopted when very young in 2014 and was recently picked up returned to the shelter and is heartworm positive. He is neutered but we will get him updated and treat his heartworms. He is also housebroken and crate trained. His foster home will be in Conroe. He should be available near the end of June.
