Bodhi, STAR # 1821
Bodhi found his new BFF with Frankie. Our “exuberant and super smart puppy” will get all of Frankie’s time and attention – and there is so much fun in store from training, enrichment exercises, travel, and walks with this very Aussie savvy mom. Thank you, Nancy for the fostering and to your dogs for the dog-sitting and puppy management. Thank you, Linda for transport.
Meet Bodhi! He is a black tri male, just under 1 year old and 52lbs.
What is a Bodhi you might wonder? Well – it’s a boy’s name of Sanskrit origin, meaning “awakening” and “enlightenment.” Such a good description of his handsome, young puppy.
Bodhi is still all puppy – just waiting to be educated in the finer things in life. He is curious and dare we say, thoughtful. He has the most adorable head tilt and the most endearing face. He is a big boy, but he often thinks he’s a lap dog.
He gets along well with his Aussie roommates- another male and 2 females! He plays hard and if he is to have a doggie pal, they need to be sturdy and fast. He is a very busy boy, but not excessively energetic. The trick is to keep him entertained and/or tired.
He is getting good at chasing a ball and most of time, bringing it back. As mentioned, he is very curious and needs to be supervised closely when he is not crated. Or he will find himself some kind of trouble.
He knows sit, will try to give you his paw and is housebroken. He crates easily with a treat and does not complain unless he needs to go outside. He is crated overnight, roams the house, supervised, during the day. When not supervised during the day, he is crated.
He has been neutered, is up to date on his vaccinations and tested negative for heart worms.
In summary, he is about as normal of an Aussie puppy as you will find, just needs boundaries enforced.
Bodhi is ready to find his furever home – so if you are interested, please complete an application under “adopt” and then we’d love to chat with you to see if he’d be a good fit.
His foster home is in Katy, TX.
