Bentley, STAR #1830
Having recently lost Kirby # 873, Class of 2011, the Adams family were ready for a new Aussie to love on. Bentley was the dog they were looking for as a new family member and pal to their visiting grandkids. Thanks Leo/Victora for the transport and Beth for fostering this good boy.
Bentley is a 5 year old Blue Merle Male, approx 45lbs. He was released to STAR by his owner who was working long hours and Bentley was spending too much time alone.
From his foster mom:
“There are so many great things to say about this handsome boy!! First, lets talk about the obvious….his eyes!! When Bentley looks up at you with those big beautiful blues….OH MY!!
Bentley was neutered shortly upon his arrival with STAR and did great. He’s up to date on all vaccinations, is clear of heartworms, and his chipped.
His energy level is more like a 2 yr old. He loves to play with the other dogs in the house and will settle down nicely when asked. He is a smarty pants!! He walks well on a leash, knows sit, laydown, and come and travels well in the car. He very much wants to please his person, a total lover boy! He is a typical Velcro aussie following me around the house. He is crate trained but does not love going in. Once in, he relaxes just fine with no whining or barking. He is house trained (not one accident so far, Yay!!).
Bentley has not been around small children or cats – but his demeanor suggests he’d be fine – and of course we’d recommend slow, managed introductions. He will also need a slow introduction to other male dogs but has been fine with my two after the first day. He loves to play with toys and doesn’t care when my bossy female takes them away.
Bentley is a sweet, affectionate and smart dog. He has adjusted really well in our crazy Aussie house (2males/1female) and deserves the best life ever. He will do well in a home with another female dog or slow intro to male dog. A playmate would be great for him. He will thrive with lots of love, attention and exercise.
Things Bentley could improve on is settling down once he comes in from outside and personal space boundaries. We are working on these things and I continue to see daily improvement.”
