Scout Traveler, STAR #1921

From stray to STAR to Adopted!  Scout “Traveler” is now a member of the Conway family and buddies with Bitsy (r).  Thank you, Melissa for transport and another great foster job.  Thank you, Sue for the home visit.

Scout is a beautiful 3-year-old, 40 lb. Blue Merle male.  He came to Star as a stray found roaming the country roads in South Texas. Scout is now heart worm negative, vaccinated and neutered.

From his foster:  Scout is a sweet, well-behaved boy.  He loves his humans and will be a typical Velcro Aussie but is also content laying on the floor or dog bed. He has been living with my 9-year-old female dog and cat for 2 months with no aggression issues whatsoever.  My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter is also a frequent visitor at my house and Scout is very sweet and relaxed around her.

Scout loves his walks, walking 1-2 times per day and does very well on the leash. My 9-year-old dog is very reactive and will bark when she sees other dogs and Scout will feed off her energy.  When walked by himself and with practice, Scout is very responsive to training. (very smart) Scout has had no potty accidents to date!

Scout has had some crate training in the beginning but has been fine being left out at night or when we leave the house with no issues or accidents. Scout needs some coaxing with a treat to go in the crate and may bark for a few minutes but will settle down pretty quickly.  Scout did have some separation anxiety in the beginning when we left the house, but we have noticed it has improved a lot since he has settled in.

Scout is sweet and loyal boy looking for his people.  Being found as a stray and with no background info prior to his foster placement, it is remarkable how well-behaved and socialized he is.  You will fall in love with his sweet disposition and mesmerizing blue eyes!

Scout has done quite a bit of exploring on the roads in South Texas.. Finally a Good Samaritan put an end to his wandering ways.. He now is a part of the STAR program and in a foster home in Fulshear to be vetted and evaluated.. Scout is a blue merle male…approx. 2-3 years old and 45 lbs.

If this is your dog, please be prepared to show us photos and vet papers and be willing to pay our expenses until now..

Scout has heartworms and should be available for adoption around the end of August/first of September.
