Clifford, STAR #1759

Clifford was adopted by Larry and we are so excited to see updates on our Alumni page!  Clifford came to STAR from the Humane Society in LA.  Larry is an experienced Aussie owner, is ready for Clifford’s energy level and Clifford gets a playmate with Aussie, Zoe.  Lots of activity and enrichment is in his future with nearby parks and walking trails.  Thank you, Gordon for fostering this young boy and helping him get to his furever home and thank you Brian for doing the home visit.

Clifford came to STAR from the Louisiana Humane Society.  He’s approximately 2 years old and around 40lbs.  He was adopted but returned due to a family medical issue, and after another round of assessment, this handsome boy is ready to find his forever home.

Clifford is an energetic and playful affection seeker. He’s smart, strong, athletic and fast – and so soft hearted. He gets along with other dogs and is very playful – he’d do great in a home with another sturdy dog.

He loves to catch balls and frisbees and is getting better at bringing them back. He loves it when you pet him and will remind you when you quit. He will crawl right up in your lap to get all the attention – but will settle and his favorite is to snuggle up to you on the couch and watch TV.

He does well on a leash and will sit at the door to prepare for his walk. Very well behaved on walks, doesn’t make much of a fuss at other dogs that are in their yards.

He is house trained, goes in his crate well, knows some commands.
If you leave food on the counter or turn your back, he will think it is his.
He is a diamond in the rough and needs training.  He has trust issues early on as he’s getting settled, so he needs a patient adopter who reads and respects his ques.  He is an escape artist when bored – so his new family will need to have a secure fence plan to keep him entertained.
He learns quickly and is VERY food motivated.  He is very loving and would love to be someone’s best bud for life.
