ADOPTED
Winchester, STAR #1743
Winchester was adopted by the Soucy family in Austin. His new family is an active, retired couple who were looking for the right Aussie to join their home after the loss of their rescue lab mix last year. Lots of walks and tennis ball chasing are in his future and of course, TLC. Winchester’s life has certainly taken a turn for the BEST since STAR pulled him from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. Thank you, Kim for the home visit and to Jane for picking this skinny boy from the shelter, getting him back to health, and another much appreciated foster job.
About Winchester…. Found running loose in Spring, TX. Sweet, skinny boy who could use a few pounds. He looked great after a bath and groom! He is a happy dog who loves to play with toys. He very carefully selects a toy from the toy bucket, then has fun tossing it around. Crates very well, sleeps in crate all night and when we are away from home. Very protective and Velco dog. Only command he seems to know is sit, but he’s a smart boy and will learn fast. No counter surfing, uses dog door, plays with other female Aussie in the house very well. Trip to Petco went really well and he was very quiet in the store. He met several employees, was petted and got treats. Was a gentleman!! Not tested around cats and kids. Heartworm neg, all shots up to date, neutered, wormed, on flea prevention, microchipped, nails trimmed – handsome!
Winchester was found at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. Just arrived and we estimate him to be around 4 years old and around 35lbs. He will be evaluated and vetted in a foster home in Spring. He should be available end of May.
