Samantha aka Sam, STAR # 1593

Samantha came to STAR from a backyard..This 7 year old girl was hugely overweight and had multiple health issues..Most have been resolved but Sammi will stay in her foster home after all this time.. She is very comfortable and happy where she is.. Special thanks to Terry for picking up Sammi and her brother Jessie.. to Kathy and Julie for transport and then to Julie who will be keeping Sammi forever..

Blue merle female, 7 years old and at least 80 lbs.  One of two dogs left in a backyard.. We will know more after the vet visit.. She will be fostered in Austin.. It is hard to predict when she will be available.. She needs to lose 20 or more lbs. and she could be hw+.. More later..                                                            UPDATE:  Sam is heartworm negative.. Let the diet begin..                                      UPDATE:  She’s losing weight !!!  Seven lbs. !!!  Sammi has some minor health issues that will be resolved with weight loss and antibiotics.  She will most likely not be ready until December..

UPDATE:  Samantha was retested for heartworms and she is positive 🙁  She may or may not be available in February..
