Rinna, STAR #2076
Happy “Aussie” Family Alert! The Dubose family who adopted Moose, STAR #2042 ’25 were ready to bring on another member to the team and Rinna (on left) fits the bill! Rinna gets couple small humans to show her the ropes along-side Moose. Smiles all around and big thank you to Elise for fostering this good girl.
Rinna is ready to find her forever home – are you her person/Family? She was released to STAR by an owner who did not have the time for her and she was spending all her time in a back yard with fur-sister, Birdie). She’s been fully vaccinated, is negative for heartworms, but has not yet been spayed – so she’ll be adopted out with a spay agreement.
About Rinna: She’s a super sweet happy 10-month-old pup with the best mix of puppy energy and cuddle-bug charm. She’s bouncy and excited when she first sees you in the morning, then settles in quickly and just wants to be near her people. She’s the kind of dog who follows you room to room like your little shadow and loves sneaking up for couch cuddles and kisses.
Rinna is truly one of the smartest fosters we’ve had. She learned her name in just a couple of days and picks up routines fast. She knows “sit,” understands “nap time” behind a baby gate, and kennels like a pro at night. No barking, no drama, and she’ll go right in when asked. She’s not destructive and doesn’t chew on things, but she is a certified sock thief! If she finds one, she proudly carries it outside like she won a trophy. She listens well when corrected and is very eager to please.
She’s great with other dogs and has been especially sweet with her foster brother Ben, a seven-year-old mini-Aussie. They love playing chase, and she’s respectful of boundaries. She also loves toys and does a good job entertaining herself.
Rinna is athletic and would be such a good fit for someone who wants an active buddy. I’ve been taking her on neighborhood runs and she is an excellent running partner; she stays right next to me and checks in during the run. She’ll even boop my fist with her nose mid-run, which is honestly the cutest thing ever. She walks great on a leash too.
Overall, Rinna is a sweet, cuddly, smart little companion who wants to be part of your everyday life. We think she’d thrive with a family that’s excited to take their dog along on adventures and also enjoys training a really bright puppy. If you’re into things like agility or flyball, she’d be a natural.
If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, active pup who’s ready to be someone’s best friend, Rinna is your girl. Her foster home is in San Antonio. To learn more, your next step is to complete an adoption application.

IMPORTANT: We do not deliver dogs to adopters. You must be able and willing to come meet the dog in their foster home. A home visit by one of our STAR volunteers is a required part of our adoption program. Adoptions outside of Texas are rare because of these requirements. You must have a secure fence in place, and we are not fans of apartments for this breed, nor homes where the dogs will be home alone 8+ hours daily. All STAR dogs are adopted to be inside pets and family members only and all current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $300 and trust us, we spend that or much more on dogs to get them vetted – all STAR dogs will be neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention. If you already have an application on file with us, you can contact us to let us know you are interested.
Rinna is a beautiful 10 month old black tri female and weighs 38 pounds. She was spending too much time in the backyard with not much interaction. She will be evaluated and vetted in the San Antonio area and should be ready for adoption in early March. Rinna will go home with a spay contract.
