Spice, STAR #2052

Spice will be all settled in her new home in time to ring in the New Year! She’ll get to live with Kim and Gene, just a few miles from the Texas coast. Lots of activity is planned to help this girl stay fit including walks, frisbee, ball toss and maybe even trips to the beach. Thank you, Terry and Zee for fostering and to Rachel for the home visit.

Hi, my name is Spice, I guess for my cinnamon-colored coat, but the first thing you’ll notice about me is my mesmerizing blue eyes, and it’s as if I can look into your soul to judge the kind of person you are!

I am a 2-1/2-year-old red tri female, and my previous family did not have enough time for me, not that I am high maintenance. I have been in my foster home for just three week and because this change was all so new to me it took me a little longer to get comfortable with my new surroundings but after 10 days I figured out life as a STAR wasn’t so bad after all and now consider myself a full-fledged member of the pack, which means I now bark at various things to protect my home.

I am also a Velcro dog who wants to be with either one of my human pack members. I am a little cautious at first when meeting strangers and if the truth be told I prefer woman over men; but my curious nature soon overcomes my worries, and I am a snuggle bunny with both my foster parents now.

I tolerate my foster dog brother, but because the toys are all mine, I can be a tad possessive at times. I love to go for walks, even though I still pull a little bit but am getting better with time and of course like to ride in the car & sniff out the window. I play fetch with toys and the ball, but I also like to be chased & playing keep away is the best cause no one can catch me. I can also play by myself with two toys because you can never have enough toys. I even carry one around with me at times just in case I need it.

When I get excited, I have a half-body wiggle butt & right now because I need to some weight (I’m on a pretty strict diet). Right now, I get fed in my crate but I’m not a fan of being confined in it, either overnight or when my humans have to leave and I can’t go, but since I’ve shown I can be trusted not to destroy anything when they are gone, I have the run of the house at all times. I will stand by the back door when I want to go out & have not had any accidents in the house.

I know a few commands such as come, sit, load-up in the car, but with a little training I know I can quickly learn others. I enjoyed being loved on and getting belly rubs whenever anyone is willing to indulge me. So, I’m ready, willing & able to be adopted & go to my forever home!

Spice has a pending adoption, post a meet/greet.

Spice is a 3-year-old red tri female around 45lbs who was released to STAR from her owners. She was not getting along with the cat nor the kids, so we’ll evaluate and then find her one without either of those things to share her space. Stay tuned. Her foster home is in Houston.
