Goat, STAR #1941
From apartment to STAR to a lucky life with John and Pat! Goat has been adopted and follows in the footsteps of STAR history (Leena #1060, Finley #1585, Cody #1605, Moose #1663 and Gracie). We simply could not have found him a better home for this big, sweet boy. Thank you, Megan and family for fostering and all of the TLC you gave this boy along the way.
Goat is a 5-year old black tri male who is ready to find a place to belong and call home. He’s on the larger side for an Aussie – around 75lbs. He came to STAR when his family knew apartment living was not allowing him to live his best life. From his foster home:
“G.O.A.T is a gorgeous boy who is super smart and learns quickly. With some love, attention, FOOD, and flattery, and he’ll be your loyal companion furever. He is full of energy and enthusiasm, game for adventure, and wants to make a better life.
He loves to walk and will walk for miles if you will! He’s good on a leash – but is a strong boy, so does pull – so need to continue is training on that. He’ll do best with a strong woman or man due to his strength and energy level. He’d definitely benefit from continued leash training.
He Loves Water. On the warmer days, might find him sitting in a pool or pond to relax. He is a skilled counter-surfer so beware of your sandwich or other snacks in his reach.
He is fascinated with that cat – but not aggressive more than just wanting to have a friendly chase occasionally.
Goat has not been aggressive with other dogs. He has been to doggy-day care and enjoyed it immensely and met other dogs at the dog park – but is not super playful once the initial sniffing is over. At home, he does often want all the attention – especially from his foster mom. We guess he has mainly been an only dog in the past and not really learned to share his people, and so we believe he’d do well as an only dog, or in a home with an easy going male or female.”
If you are interested in learning more about and possibly meeting Goat, please go to our STAR website and submit an application- under Adopt/at bottom. He is fully vetted, neutered, HW-, microchipped and has a clean bill of health. His foster home is in Kyle.
This is GOAT.. maybe the Greatest of All Time.. We will find out.. Meanwhile he is a black tri male, 75 lbs. and just turned 5 years old.. His former owners lived in an apartment and simply were not home.. Hopefully STAR can find a home that will be more present.. In the meantime, he is being fostered in Kyle and should be available around the end of October..
