Moss, STAR #1934

Moss went from stray to STAR to success!  He’s joining the Alpin family including his new fur sister, Missy who is a Border Collie Mix.  Lots of walks, fetch, frisbee, and trips to the local park are in his future with this retired couple. Thank you, Nancy for doing such a great foster job and loving on this “social butterfly” until we could find him a great home. Thank you, Tracey for the home visit.

Moss was found as a stray and landed with STAR. He’s a handsome, sassy 5-year-old black tri male and around 45 pounds.

From his foster mom:

Introducing Moss, the social butterfly. Moss has never met a stranger and likely never will.

He is current on his vaccinations, neutered, chipped and heart worm negative. He’s a lively black tri male around 46 pounds with lots of fluff. He did come to us with an injury to his right ear that has healed nicely.

Moss always has his radar ears at attention and is very alert. He is well behaved in the house and has free roam privileges during the day. He is crated overnight but would clearly prefer to be out and about and near you. Moss is excellent at going to his crate and in the evening will go to his crate when he’s told it is bedtime.

He loves to sit in the chair with you and be right next to you. He will find a way to mold himself into a fit.

He gets along well with his Aussie roommates. He can be a little annoying to them at times and takes correction well when they get tired of his silliness. He is also fine with just being with you. He will chase a ball but considers it his once he has captured it. When he is really excited and happy he will spin himself around in circles, so cute!

He has not been a big barker but will if he feels it’s needed. Mostly he looks at me and wonders why the other dogs are barking at leaves blowing in the yard.

I have noticed he can be a little possessive of food and toys but not to the extreme. He does not like his feet messed with.

He is very smart and learns quickly. He will definitely be missed here, and his personality will be quickly adored by a forever family.”

To learn more, please complete an adoption application. His foster home is in Katy, TX.
