Watson, STAR # 1903

Wow… Watson!  He’s a beautiful Aussie AND a beautiful soul. Watson is a Black Tri Male, 1-2 years old and around 75lbs. He was released by a family who found him – he had no collar/chip nor could an owner be found.

He’s ready to find his forever home – and here’s what is foster mom says about this charmer:

“Watson is super sweet and loving.  He is happy all the time and never meets a stranger. He absolutely loves toys, especially anything on a rope or a squeaker.

He is good with other dogs and needs a sturdy playmate – in fact, he’d do really well with a playmate as he’s totally into playing with Tilly, our female Aussie.  He also loves his foster dad (2nd to Tilly) and then maybe I’m third!

He is house trained (will come get me if he needs to go out), crate trained, and has no fear of thunder.  He will sit nicely to take a treat.  He loves to bark at deer through the fence and every night he must do a full fence patrol before he comes in for the night. It is funny to watch because he starts at one end and goes all the way around.

He will sit on command.  He does not get on furniture but will lay at my feet or where he can see me. Loves his foster dad and choses to lay next to him when he is home.

This we are working on:

He is young, so he has a tendency to be mouthy at times, but he does not bite.

Recall – not at all ready to be off leash in an open area (and may never be) – especially where he’d see a deer and be off for the chase… maybe how he ended up found being a stray.

Diet!  He is a sturdy, muscular boy who is built like a tank – but does need to lose 10-15 lbs.

Barking at the TV (he has some excellent hearing and reacts to things in commercials that we do not hear, nor has any dog we have ever known has heard.  There are several commercials which must have some sound in a wavelength we cannot hear but drives him crazy.  He will run in from another room when he hears them and watch and maybe bark)”

Watson is a very large Black Tri male. He is 1-2 years old with perfect white teeth and weighs approx. 80 lbs. (diet coming!!) He has been groomed, is already neutered and vaccinated. Foster home describes him as a BIG puppy. He will be evaluated by his foster home in China Springs and should be available for adoption around mid-May.
