ADOPTED

Niyah, STAR #1863

Niyah came to us from a shelter in South Texas, got the “STAR” treatment at her foster home, and has been adopted by Nancy who is “over the moon” to bring her home. Two future best buddies are waiting on her including Colby (lab) and Shelby (corgi). Lots of back yard play, and walks are in her future. Thank you, Sean and Kristin for fostering this sweet girl and Becky for the home visit.

Niyah is a one-year-old female blue merle.  She’s on the smaller side and is approximately 30 lbs. Niyah was pulled from a South Texas as stray who was released to STAR once her hold had expired and not claimed.

Niyah has been spayed and checked out by our vet – healthy girl.  She is now fully vaccinated and microchipped as well.

She is being cared for and evaluated at a foster home in Houston.  Niyah should be available for adoption near the middle of November.

Early update from her foster dad:

No issues with this young lady – very sweet and highly energetic. She can run with the big dogs and holds her own!

  1. House broken and used doggie door.
  2. Eats meals in crate (door open or closed); Crate trained.
  3. Great car rider.
  4. Gets along with other dogs and cats – no issues so far!
  5. Gets along with young children.
  6. Loves to cuddle.
  7. Great on walks.

Work in progress:  Wait command at door, basic commands, counter surfing (she is a counter, couch, coffee table surfer extraordinaire!)

If you are interested in being approved to adopt and being considered for Niyah when she becomes available, please complete an adoption application.
