Mack, STAR #2049

Introducing Mack, an adorable Australian Shepherd currently seeking his forever home. At just 6 to 8 months old and weighing approximately 25 pounds, Mack is a fun loving and affectionate puppy who has been settling into his foster home.

Mack is a sweet boy with an eagerness to love and be loved.  His enthusiasm is especially evident when family members return home. He has received gentle reminders not to jump or mouth when excited, but he is a quick learner and responds well to guidance.

Mack shares the home with an adult male and an older female puppy. He enjoys chasing them and playing steal the frisbee. He also enjoys fetching and returning tennis balls. Occasionally he needs reminders of boundaries from the adult male dog.

Mack has had positive introductions to neighborhood children, although he requires some reminders to keep his excitement in check and not jump.

Mack is currently working on becoming housebroken and crate trained, showing good progress in both areas. He is enticed into his crate with treats and has been vocal initially, but this behavior is decreasing as he becomes more comfortable. Consistent scheduling for house training has greatly benefited him, and he is adapting well to his new routine.

Leash training is underway, with Mack learning not to pull on walks. He is a good car rider and remains in his seat with the help of a doggie seat belt.

Mack is up to date on all his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is currently on a slow-feeder bowl due to his tendency to eat quickly.

Mack will thrive in a home that understands the needs of an energetic and affectionate puppy. His ideal family will appreciate his affection and energy and be committed to helping him continue his training.

If you are interested in adopting, your first step is to complete an adoption application available on our website under “adopt”.  His foster home is in San Antonio.

Mack is a handsome red tri male puppy – around 4-6 months. Owner simply did not have time for him, and he was spending his days in a pen in the yard. We will get him fully vetted and he will be adopted out with a contract agreement to neuter at age 1.  His foster home is in San Antonio, and he may be available mid-November.
