Autumn, STAR #1999
Autumn is a stunningly beautiful and petite red tri female – around 35 lbs. and 3 years old. She came to STAR when her owners were no longer able to care for her due to their health issues. Autumn has been fostered in an Aussie-savvy home, and here’s what her foster mom describes her:
“Autumn is an energetic and smart girl. She’s all about her own world and loves to follow you around. She’ll let you know if she’s feeling left out, so don’t be shy to show her some love!
We have two adorable boy Aussies and a lovely female pitty. Autumn gets along with them perfectly. They all get along great, play together, and respect each other’s boundaries. Autumn is the smallest of the group, but she’s not afraid to show them who’s boss, as often females do (ha,ha)!
Autumn is potty trained, okay in her crate (but not for long), and knows how to sit and stay. She gets super excited when it’s time for food and walks. She’s so food-motivated and loves to play fetch!
She does better walking by herself, but we have to be extra careful around cars. We think she’s not used to them and might lunge when one’s close – so that’s a work in progress.
Autumn is little but a counter surfer. She loves to jump up and down when she sees food or when it’s time to go for a walk.”
NOTE: Autumn has a cute side profile with a minor misalignment of her lower jaw. It’s called malocclusion – but does not impact her negatively in any way. She’s happy, healthy, fully vetted, microchipped and spayed.
She has not been tested with kids or cats, but all indications are that she’d be fine with slow and easy introductions. She will benefit greatly with some training – which we recommend for all of our dogs.
If you’d like to know more about Autumn, your first step is to complete an adoption application.
Autumn is a red tri female. 35 lbs. and 3 years old. The elderly owners are having health issues. Autumn will be vetted and evaluated by her foster home in N. W. Houston. She has a short lower jaw which appears to be something called Malocclusion which means misalignment. A malocclusion is classified as the lower jaw being too short in comparison with the upper jaw. https://www.petmd.com/dog/care/dogs-underbites-what-canine-malocclusion – we don’t see that it bothers her, but we’ll get our vet to check it out. She DOES have a cute little side profile. She should be available for adoption near the end of June.
